I heard a demonstration of the software ,versus standard itunes in Munich, I thought it a significant improvement, more texture to the sound, more space around individual components, and the auto sample rate sensing is useful....
Sounds as though you had a wonderful time. The Brinkmann room alternated between three tables, their 'La grange ' direct drive 'Oasis' and a balace with a 'Thales' tonearm, the Verity's use a ribbon tweeter Raal? Which in that undamped room was just ...
Stitch, he hasn't been staying with me this week, just out of idle curiosity which rooms at Munich did you and your audio moron friends enjoy?...
Quote, ' But I avoid conversations with audio morons. It is pretty boring. 'I thought you said they were your friends!...
Stitch I spent the week in Munich and was fortunate enough to spend quite a biy of time in rooms that interested me, did your friends compare hi-fi to other hi-fi or do they compare hi-fi to real music? Romy are you familiar withthe 833 tube?...
Your audiophile buddies must be deaf stitch, the Cessaro room was easily the best at the show, although to be fair there wasn't much competition, Magico sounded as if the sound was being pushed into the speakers, YG wasn't bad, their sealed aluminiu...
OLE where did you hear the big Lansche?...
Not the same thing at all, but the New Amarra software allows for auto sampling rate switching on itunes, I heard a dem last week in Munich , itunes and then switching in Amarra and the Amarra sounded way more interesting, Jonathan from Sonic studio...

Thanks Mani, that is very kind of you, I 'bought' one a few years back but eventually the seller preffered to sell locally! I did hear a rumour that the Berkeley boys were going to make a new 'model III' but Mike Ritter quashed that particular rumour...
Mani, I am of no help I am afraid, but I have been trying to buy a Model II for years ,may I ask where did you find yours? Thanks Keith....
Romy Hi,re above, Cessaro will be at the Munich 'Hi-End' show in May with a pair of Beta horns ,four ways. Hopefully we can get a decent sound from the room,Munich is very pleasant in May should you fancy a trip.! Regards Keith....
It is also ben reviewed by Robert Harley , I am supposing that you would also condsider him an 'idiot' ?...
Works by heating the air. Similar in function to plasma tweeters.Could be promising for midband i think. Might be too slow in cooling in high frequencies. Its not linear though. Needs to be equalised...http://www.engadget.com/2008/11/04/carbon-nanotub...

I have tried a BMS driver a while ago and it was really bad.About a year ago i heard Berts setup at his house and it did not impress me... It was also with the coaxial BMS.Not much depth or resolution. Did have alot of power though but was difficult ...

Ralph spends hours polishing those tweeters!...
Romy Hi hope you are well, here's a ( rather poor ) photo of the spherical horn, , very best keith....
Cessaro in fact make a spherical brass horn for the 703, drop Ralph a line ( at cessaro ) I am sure he will be answer any queries. Keith....

Looking at the picture again i see the Utopias drivers are angled. Thats the difference. Yes i agree that must not be good for coherence outside of the sweet spot....
But Romy, you also have the different channels in a curved array ? Whats the differenceI know your's are time aligned but the Utopias must be as well.Collin...
I agree with Adrian. Dont think too much and set the speakers up and start changing from there, you know its going to change again anyway.. In that light it might be even better to start with a standard mdf cabinet to experiment with port configurati...

Telstar, sadly i couldn't make it ti the show, did you attend, it must have been more interesting than the Heathrow, london show, 'Six moons' have posted some photographs.http://www.6moons.com/industryfeatures/industryfeatures.html...
Romy, that’s a very interesting concept that could dramatically alter the perception indeed.
You mention it as the 7th channel as a means but this must have steering/contouring from an “intelligent” source.
Do you have to wear a helmet for this or ...
Romy, perhaps you can give your 7th a photographic based analogy which you seek improvement on.Just don't say photo stitching ...Wavelength dependent level /hue /sat adjustment ? (gamma + black and white point)This will be recording specific though.....
Hello Andy,I like your recordings although i am listening on headphones which i normally do not use. My Main setup is not operational right now. They do sound clean, clear and dynamic. Can you let us hear a recording of the live vs playback? This would...
Filter B will have equal damping of the driver for all frequencies while setup A has "none" until the cap is full....

Romy, Thomas Woschnick makes superb turntables, I bought one with my own money, I don't sell them! It has the pitch stability of a DD but with far superior dynamics, it is a no nonsense design, superbly engineered and manufactured. Keith....
Oliver/Romy have either of you heard the HRx discs produced by 'reference recordings' yet? ( or the berkeley audio design Alpha dac ), I don't sell them Romy ! ...
Yet you change two resistors in the Lavry and we have four pages of gushing prose! I think you enjoy the sound of your own voice too much!...
Romy rain all this weekend so have been listening to the Stahl-Tek and the MSB platinum III with 'signature' upgrades , MSB seems to float the sound ona cloud of coton candy, almost to the detriment of resolution , perhaps there is little softe...
